This series consists of annual reports relating to medical services in Barkly and Central Australia regions to be integrated into the Departmental report. During 1969-1970, the southern region reports included the following; hospitals in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek, medical services to Alice Springs Gaol, Aerial Medical Service, schools medical service, dental service, health laboratory, public health services provided to urban and rural services in and around Alice Springs and Tennant Creek, home nursing services, infant health section, infectious diseases, health education, and a section on Aboriginal social problems (volume nos 1-2, box no.1). During 1970-1971, reports were prepared for separate medical services. The southern region division reported on the following; home nursing service, Aerial Medical Service, medical services to Alice Springs Gaol, infant health section, health laboratory, rural health section, and public health (volume no.3, box no.1). The Alice Springs Hospital report included; beds available (number in use and ward closures), training scheme for hospital assistants, nursing staff (establishment, recruitment, and retention rates), buildings, patients, catering, blood bank, Hospital Advisory Board, and development (volume no.4, box no.1). During 1972/1973, the southern region report noted the introduction of the Medical Records Section and included; administration, infant health, home nursing, medical services to Alice Springs Gaol, environmental health, health laboratory, public health, leprosy, child health, chest clinic, rural health, and Aerial Medical Service (volume no.5, box no.1).
